On Tuesday afternoon December 24. TSFR was dispatched to assist the Wyomissing FD and Western Berks EMS with a motor vehicle crash on State Hill Road near Cheltenham Drive in Wyomissing Boro. Additional information was that several calls were received reporting a vehicle into a tree, rolled over with one occupant trapped. Accordingly, TSFR Rescue 85 and Chief 85 responded with WFD Engine 79 and WBEMS Medic 6521. Upon arrival, units confirmed one vehicle on its side into a sheared utility pole with one entrapped.

Personnel stabilized the vehicle using struts and an electric winch on R85, and a protection 1 3/4" hose line from E79 was deployed. When the stabilization was secure, personnel performed a roof flap maneuver to access the patient using hydraulic rescue equipment. A roof flap involves cutting the roof supports on one side of the vehicle and bending it toward the opposite side. With this complete, WBEMS and fire personnel utilized a long spine board to immobilize the patient for transport to the hospital. When all equipment was secured, TSFR and WFD units were made available with the exception of Fire Police
