As you approach the joy of the Fourth of July, we' like you all to pause for a moment to remember one of our own. Deputy Sheriff Kyle Pagerly was killed in the line of duty on June 29, 2011, while serving as a member of a joint Berks County Sheriff/US Marshal fugitive task force.

At the time, Kyle was also serving as a volunteer Lieutenant in the Township of Spring Fire Rescue Service. For those of us serving alongside him at that time, and anyone who knew Kyle, it seems like yesterday. Even though the hole fills in, it never fills over.
