MIcrowave Fire on Oak Hil Lane |

On Wednesday July 9, 2025, TSFR Engine 85, West Reading FD Engine 64, Reading FD Engine 3, Kenhorst FC Engine 69-1, Wyomissing FD Ladder 79, Western Berks FD Ladder 18, Mohnton Station 57RIT, and Western Berks EMS Medics M6511, and M6512 were dispatched for a residential structure fire on Oak Hill Lane in Spring Township. Additional information from County Communications reported a fire in a microwave which was possibly out. M6561 arrived and found an occupant outside who reported then fire to be possibly out. E85, L79, and Chief 85 arrived along with E3 taking the hydrant. Members entered the structure and reported a small fire inside the microwave. Personnel, checked for extension, and determined that ventilation was not required. As such Command placed the incident under control and released all companies with the exception of E85, L79, and L18. Power was secured to the microwave and atmospheric monitoring was completed with zero meter response. Command then released L79 and L18 as E85 removed the appliance from the home service. The fire marshal performed an investigation and all units cleared the scene when all tasks were completed. |
