Mulch Fire with Extension

A mulch fire caused damage to a local fast food restaurant in northern Spring Twp early Monday evening July 4th. The fire from the burning mulch extended into a void space behind an exterior wall and began to spread upward causing a smoke condition throughout the occupancy. Companies were forced to remove the exterior cladding of the building to access the fire and determine extension. Once the fire was extinguished, the smoke was cleared by positive pressure ventilation.

Quick discovery by restaurant staff and prompt action by firefighters made efficient work of the incident.
