The Monday night drill on March 30 focused on hydrant operations for one of our probie firefighters, and E85 pump operations for a new engine driver.

The driver drove E85 to the hydrant in front of the station where a probationary firefighter removed the 4-way hydrant valve with connected 5" supply hose, along with the hydrant bag. The hydrant firefighter rapped the hydrant and signaled the driver to proceed, whereupon the engine proceeded into the station parking lot. While the engine stopped and the driver set up the pump to receive the water, the hydrant operator connected the valve to the hydrant. On command from the engine operator, the hydrant was opened and the supply line charged. The pump operator exercised the pump by flowing the preconnected deck gun.

The hoses were then shut down and disconnected, and the evolution was repeated. After the second go-round, all members helped to roll, drain and repack the hose.
