| Our regular Monday night drill on April 20 focused on forcible entry operations. Utilizing the department's door simulator, members initially practiced the tasks used to breach locked doors using basic hand tools such as the Halligan bar /flat head axe combination frequently referred to in the fire service as a "marriage". After the basics, personnel donned full personal protective equipment and engaged in full speed breaching operations for doors that open both toward and away from the operator. |
