| It was cold, it was rainy but it was also well attended. TSFRS turned out to participate in the annual Touch a Truck event sponsored by the Township Parks and Rec Department on Saturday, May 9 at the Township's Shiloh Hills Park. Engine 85, Utility 85 and the Kids Safety House were on display and Rescue Engine 85 did a drive thru visit. We joined Township Police and Public Works along with Spitler's Towing for up close and personal interaction with children and their families.
Given the weather conditions, the attendance was astounding. We estimated that approximately 100 children and about the same number of adults visited us to learn about fire safety and how fire trucks work. Even Reading Royals mascot Slapshot showed up to check out the event and met and greet the fans. |
