Early in the morning hours of Saturday October 29, TSFR and Wyo FD were dispatched to a reported structure fire in a laundromat on Berkshire Blvd in Wyomissing Boro. Also responding were our mutual aid partners from Reading (Ladder 1 and Engine 3), West Reading (Engine 64), Kenhorst (Engine 69-1), Mount Penn (Utility 1 as RIT) and Western Berks EMS. Berks CO Communications reported a dryer fire, with multiple calls and PD on location with a fire in the building.

WFD Ladder 79 arrived first reporting heavy smoke showing from the front and declared a working fire. Deputy 85 arrived, set up command and was assigned Ops 1. E64 stretched a handline as L79 personnel entered the structure to locate the fire and search. E85 arrived and the crew assisted both L79 and E64. L1 and L79 placed their aerials to the roof and checked the vents for extension while E3 and E64 set up water supply. In short order water was on the fire which was confined to a large commercial dryer. There was no fire extension, but smoke was discovered in the two attached occupancies. The smoke conditions were addressed via positive pressure ventilation.
