Vehicle Fire on Fritztown Rd

On Thursday afternoon June 18, TSFR Rescue Engine RE85, Wyomissing FD Ladder 79, and Western Berks FD Engine 18-2 were dispatched to the 700 block of Fritztown Road in southern Spring Township for a vehicle fire

Additional information from Communications was that this was an electrical vehicle on fire. Township Fire Inspector FM43-1 was nearby conducting inspections and arrived at the fire with an initial incident assessment of a small engine compartment fire. E18-2 arrived on location shortly thereafter and began extinguishment a small engine compartment fire with their bumper mounted 1 3/4" handline.

After arrival of E85 and the Deputy, L79 was returned while E85s crew assisted with overhaul and safely depowering the vehicle with application of an emergency plug. Twp Fire Marshal FM43 was summoned and took over the investigation.
