| Just after midnight on Tuesday June 30 TSFRS Rescue 85 and Fire Police responded to the area of Penn Avenue and Reading Avenue in Wyomissing Borough on an assist to our neighbors at Wyomissing FD for a reported vehicle crash with entrapment and possible fire.
WFD Ladder 79 reported on location while R85 was still enroute and confirmed smoke coming from the engine compartment but no entrapment. L79 initiated a fire attack and when R85 arrived, the crew assisted with overhauling the fire area and providing area lighting. R85s members also used their power cutters to remove the hood to permit L79s crewman to wet down the area while R85 personnel disconnected the battery. R85 assisted with clean up and was subsequently released by command.
TSFRS Fire Police assisted Wyo PD with traffic and scene control until the vehicle was removed. |
