| The tots at the West Lawn United Methodist Pre School program were treated to a visit from TSFRS Engine 85 for a tour and meeting with a decked-out firefighter on Monday and Tuesday mornings, October 26 and 27.
The children were shown the engine and all of its hardware. Most importantly, they got to see a TSFRS firefighter don his personal protective equipment ensemble including breathing apparatus. We do this so that that the youngsters see that inside all that stuff is a person who is there to help and not to be afraid. We were able to deliver this message to 55 kids and 12 adults over the two days.
Thanks for the invitation, WLUMC Pre School! |
