TSFRS members responded to assist the Reading Fire Department with a structure fire in the 700 block of N 10th Street in the city late in the afternoon of Friday October 30. Engine 85 responded on the second alarm for a multiple structure rowhome fire initially reported as a pile of sticks burning that extended into connected properties in that block. The fire ultimately went to a third alarm.

E85 members were initially directed to check the third floor of residences on N 10th St to uncover possible fire spread and found none. After reporting findings to command, personnel were sent to relieve operating crews on the second and third floor of the immediate fire area where they performed extensive overhaul. All areas including the floor were opened and hot spots were extinguished as uncovered.
E85s personnel then exited the building for rehab and to obtain fresh air cylinders. After this brief rest they then deployed to the baker's alley between two of the involved residences in order to overhaul the exterior of the buildings. They later accessed a second floor via the exterior fire escape and assisted with overhaul.

When all tasks were completed and equipment was secured, RE85 was released by command and returned.
