On Wednesday morning January 18, TSFR Rescue 85, Wyo FD Ladder 79 and Western Berks EMS Medic 6512 were dispatched for a motor vehicle crash, with entrapment at a restaurant located in northern Spring Township. As companies went responding Communications reported one vehicle into the building with one occupant pinned in the vehicle. Additional calls were received reporting an additional occupant trapped in the building plus a central station commercial fire alarm from the occupancy. Accordingly Chief 85 requested an additional MICU and Western Berks FD Engine 18-2.

L79 arrived on scene to find one vehicle into the main entrance vestibule with one injured party sitting outside the building and one still in the vehicle. L79s crew stabilized the vehicle with cribbing and began to remove the metal entrance doors that were on top of the vehicle while Command investigated the structural integrity of the building. R85 arrived on scene and crew assisted with extrication while EMS commenced patient care. Fire personnel successfully accessed the driver with hydraulic tools and removed the patient to EMS.

FM43 responded and assisted with power isolation and code implications. R85 remained on location until the vehicle was removed.
