A motor vehicle crash with possible entrapment was reported on the West Shore Bypass in Wyomissing Borough late in the afternoon of Tuesday June 17. The incident was reported to be in the southbound lanes near the Paper Mill Road interchange and involved a car into a light pole. Normally TSFRS Rescue 85 would respond. However, Engine 85 was released from a previous assignment in Spring Twp and responded instead. Accordingly, Wyomissing Captain 79 special called an additional rescue (RFD Rescue 1) to cover.

Wyo FD Engine 79 arrived and reported a car over the embankment, into the adjoining woods and into a tree with one occupant entrapped and injured. Chain saws were used to access the automobile and permit extrication of the injured party. E85 remained on location to provide additional blocking on the highway until released by command.

TSFRS Fire Police responded and assisted with traffic control on this busy highway.
