Notice of Reasonable Accommodations for Individuals with Disabilities
Dumpsters and Fireworks

By PIO Rick Schartel
July 5, 2025

Every year we seem to get fires in dumpsters that are possibly connected to the disposal or use of fireworks. They are generally a nuisance but must be dealt with especially if the dumpsters are in proximity to homes and other property. There were two reported on the evening of July 4, one each in the Berkshire Hills and Lincoln Park neighborhoods.

We always urge the public to handle fireworks debris safely and soak them in a bucket of water overnight before disposing of them.
