TSFR Fire Prevention personnel visited the staff at the Columbia Cottage community in the Township on Thursday afternoon July 3 for a fire safety presentation.

The presentation included use of our fire extinguisher simulator. This device offers the public the opportunity to actually get the feel of discharging a fire extinguisher without the accompanying mess and safety concerns. It consists of a digital fire and a special extinguisher that projects a target onto the screen that shows where the extinguishing agent is being sprayed. IF done properly, the algorithm recognizes it and the fire eventually goes out. There are different degrees of difficulty that can be applied by the instructor as appropriate.

The session was attended by approximately 20 staffers and included some of their children as well. TSFR offers this service to our residents and businesses if requested.
