| Patriot Day, during which the tragic day of September 11, 2001, is memorialized, was celebrated at several local elementary schools in the Wilson School District on Wednesday morning September 11 2025. TSFRS was honored to be invited to the services at Shiloh Hills and Spring Ridge Elementary Schools. Accordingly, personnel and apparatus were in attendance at both.
Chief 85 and Engine 85 with two were at Shiloh Hills, where the entire student body and staff gathered at the flagpole for the raising and lowering to half-staff of the American flag, reciting of the pledge of allegiance and playing of the national anthem. The first-grade class led everyone in singing America the Beautiful and there were inspirational readings by three students and Principal Kelly Byrne.
In addition to this program, Rescue Engine 85 and a crew of four attended a simultaneous presentation at the Spring Ridge Elementary School. |
