| In addition to immediate expanded reporting of Line of Duty Deaths in our region and those in the national media, we would like to extend our heartfelt condolences to the families and colleagues of the following brothers and sisters who gave their lives in the service to their communities this past month. In many cases, such events escape the notice of those outside or their immediate area.
1/11 Paramedic Jacob Amos, Kosciusko IN, died from long term stress-related medical issues stemming from PTSD
1/18 Firefighters Roger Jansen and Geir Johnson from Norway, who were killed during operations at a structure fire
1/22 Firefighter/Paramedic Brittany Hathaway, Cliff Gila NM, became unconscious and died while performing at a medical emergency
In addition, we'd also like to mention FirefighterEngineer Danny Cook of CalFire/Riverside who experienced a medical emergency during a structure fire on New Years Eve 2025.
