| Just when you thought it was gone, it's back. Winter hasn't left us yet, and unless you've been living in a cave over the last 24 hrs, you probably are aware that we are in a winter storm warning for Winter Storm Hernando. The predictions of how much to expect depends on who you are listening to and when. However, suffice to say we are due for several inches accumulation along with gusty winds starting slowly early Sunday morning and ramping up throughout the day and into Monday.
Our warnings and pleas from last time still hold true. So, among other things, PLEASE: --Stay off the roads as much as possible. Traffic conditions will deteriorate throughout the day Sunday and into Monday --Clear off the neighborhood hydrants. It's for your safety as well as your neighbors' and ours, actually and came in handy in the last storm. --Use care with space heaters and fireplaces. Keep them away from combustibles, children and animals, and only use when you are home -- Keep your ground level heater exhausts snow free to avoid carbon monoxide back up --In the event of a power outage, don't use candles or open flames....use battery devices instead. Also, make sure your phones are charged early.

Finally...don't blame the groundhog. He didn't cause it, he only predicted it...we were warned..... |
