TSFRS Rescue 85 and Fire Police, along with Wyomissing FD Ladder 79 , Western Berks FD E18-2 and Western Berks EMS Medic 6511, were dispatched to the corner of Iroquois Avenue and Nichole Way in Spring Twp for a vehicle crash on Saturday evening July 11. The incident was reported to be with injuries and entrapment. Upon arrival, R85s crew located one patient not entrapped but with a pole sheared in half and wires down.
In short order Spring Township PD notified PPL about the pole and wires while patient care was transferred to M6511. R85 members stood by until the Medic transported the patient to the hospital. TSFRS Fire Police and Township PD cordoned off the area to control pedestrian and vehicle traffic near the pole and wires. R85 was subsequently released by PD and Fire Police remained until the vehicle was removed.
