On Thursday afternoon September 2, WFD Ladder 79 under Capt. Nester and TSFRS Rescue 85 under Capt. Conner plus Western Berks EMS Medic 6511 were dispatched to Woodland Rd in the Wyomissing Hills section of Wyomissing Borough for a vehicle accident with possible entrapment. L79 arrived on location with the medic unit and confirmed a van on its side with one patient entrapped. L79 members initiated vehicle stabilization with chocks and struts.

R85 arrived and assisted with stabilization, supplementing the struts with the rescue truck cable winch. Both crews then utilized hydraulic rescue tools for access and disentanglement operations. A WBEMS medic was able to enter the vehicle to initiate patient care, after which the single occupant was removed and placed into care of the medics who transported to the hospital.
