The tots at the West Lawn United Methodist Pre School program were treated to a visit from TSFRS Engine 85 for a tour and meeting with a decked-out firefighter on Monday and Tuesday mornings, October 26 and 27.
The children were shown the engine and all of its hardware. Most importantly, they got to see a TSFRS firefighter don his personal protective equipment ensemble including breathing apparatus. We do this so that that the youngsters see that inside all that stuff is a person who is there to help and not to be afraid. We were able to deliver this message to 55 kids and 12 adults over the two days.
